Local Artist Funded for Performing Arts Center Work

Voorhees working on a stained glass pieceLOYALTON — Upstate Creative Corps has funded Sierra County Stained Glass Artist Marjorie Voorhees for two projects. The Headwaters Stained Glass Window project will install eight windows totaling 8 square feet in Musica Sierra’s new performing arts center in Loyalton in the old school house. This project will reflect the incredible landscape and wildlife of the Sierra Valley. Bear, duck, and eagle will be among the wildlife depicted. She is also doing an art piece portraying an Osprey that will be included in the “Sierra Buttes and Lakes Basin” book project in collaboration with the Sierra County Land Trust.
