Apples are cut and fed into a Buckeye cider press
FOREST CITY — On Sunday, the town of Forest, which has a listed population of just four and as few as two full-time residents, hosted its annual AppleFest. The Forest City Historical Society puts on the event, this year bringing over a hundred visitors to Forest for lunch, entertainment, and some apple-related treats and activities. Highlights included a press producing fresh apple cider for tasting, hand-cranked apple ice cream, a display of historic and unique local fruits and nuts, jewelry, clothing, and the band “Captain Kitten and the Chicken Fried Cats.” The event also held an apple dessert competition in which pies, cookies, and other sweet treats were entered.
