Arrest Made in Sierra County Homicide Investigation

SIERRA BROOKS — The Sierra County Sheriff’s Office says that shortly after midnight on Friday, August 8, it received information about a possible deceased individual at a dispersed campsite south of Sierra Brooks. Responding deputies found a deceased female and an “incoherent male” at the scene. Based on suspicious circumstances, assistance was requested from the California Department of Justice Bureau of Forensic Science and Plumas County Sheriff’s Office detectives.

Later in the morning, Jesse James Dallmann (36) from Sun Valley, Nevada, was arrested on a charge of homicide. The Sheriff’s Office says that, based on the ongoing investigation, the death was an isolated incident, and there is no known threat to the public. The office is not releasing further details at this time.
