PLACER COUNTY — Cal Fire reports that on February 9, just after 5 PM, Cal Fire and Placer County Department firefighters responded to a commercial vehicle fire on westbound Interstate 80 near Alta. While enroute, personnel received additional information that the vehicle was a cattle truck.

After arriving, Cal Fire Engine 2383 reported an active brake-caused fire on the passenger side of the trailer near the rear axle, and that the truck was occupied with several cattle severely burned.
