Press Release by Sierra County Sheriff's Office On October 31, 2023, students from Downieville High School attended a forensic fingerprint class at the Sierra County Sheriff’s Office. The students are studying various aspects of forensic science, including fingerprints, trace evidence, and fiber comparisons. During the class, the students learned about developing latent fingerprints, photographing and lifting fingerprints, and using Super Glue to develop prints. Who knows, we might have a future Sierra County deputy sheriff in the class.
