The North San Juan Community Center Board looks forward to celebrating community Ridge Style at a multitude of exciting June events. Be sure to mark your calendars! June 18 – Father’s Day BBQ (12:00am - 4:00pm) Did you hear about the Father’s Day BBQ? It’s on fire! Come celebrate Dads, and their jokes, Ridge-style. Hungry? Let Gold Country Cuisine beef you up with their dad inspired menu, complete with bottomless keg for the dads! There will be local artists, field games, and drawings for a variety of awesome prizes. And as dad’s on the Ridge say, “our Mountains aren’t just fun, they’re hill areas.” June 24 – The 127th Annual Cherry Festival (10:00am - 5:00pm) Join us and gather for a day of deeply-rooted, small town, family friendly fun! The celebration begins at 10:00AM with a 30 minute parade, one of the longest running traditions of the Ridge, followed by a music and arts festival at the Community Center. There will be additional activities scheduled throughout town as well. If you are interested in signing up for the parade, or would like to set up a booth at the festival, contact NSJCommunityCenter@gmail.com. You may also pick up a parade form at The Ridge Cafe, Sweetland Garden Mercantile, Super Stop, Mother Truckers, or Oridgenal Thrift. Friday Night Bingo! ( 1st & 3rd Friday ~ 6:00am - 9:00pm) Bring a snack to share, if you can. Invite a friend or three, and come on down to the Community Center. Nibble while you score. Gather and enjoy with your neighbors, then Outshine them with your winnings! The Tuesday Night Dinner & Open Mic (5:30pm - 7:30pm) The nights are getting longer, and the weather is getting nicer. So, Tuesday night dinners are back, and we are excited to feed you! Our simple and affordable menu (always with a vegetarian option), and talented chefs, changes weekly. Part of the proceeds go back to nourishing the Community Center. Sunday Swap Meet & Brunch (10am-4pm, food service 11am-3pm) Out for a Sunday drive? Don’t feel like making breakfast or lunch? Craving Eggs Benedict and free Mimosas? Then come join us for a delicious brunch at the NSJ Canommunity Center. Made to order by Chefs John Finnigan, Evan Gibbins, and Garth Melendez. Rain or Shine. There is plenty of seating, indoor and out, and kids under 5 eat free! Check out the locals’ booths, or listen to some impromptu local music while you wait. Sunday Brunch is an economic development partnership. NSJCC receives rental income and the chef’s generously donate a part of their proceeds to nourish other Community Center programs. Interested in Volunteering or Vending? If you are interested in volunteering at any of our events, or would like a booth for vending, reach out and let us know. We have outdoor booth space available at all of our events for local artisans and vendors.
