With the 2024 general election growing closer, Supervisor Lee Adams makes clear his intention to run for re-election as Sierra County District One Supervisor. Lee shared the following letter with The Mountain Messenger: Editor, While 2024’s general election is some sixteen months away, California’s early primary season sets September 14th as the first day to file for office. With that day just six weeks away and with a few asking, I thought this a good time to announce my intent to run for an additional four-year term on the Sierra County Board of Supervisors. I appreciate the trust that has been shown to me during my time on this board, and I am humbled to serve the entire county and directly represent the residents of District One. I plan to pull papers for re-election on September 14th to be considered for another term. Sierra County has been my home since 1979, I continue to be blessed to live here, and I have the energy, interest, and passion to continue to serve. In addition to the work within the county, I have been honored to represent Sierra County with the 58-member California State Association of Counties (CSAC) and the 40 county Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC) (including serving as chair of that organization). Both organizations strive to support good public policy benefiting local control, with the latter pushing for good public policy for rural locations especially. I appreciate the opportunity to discuss any issue of interest at any time, and as a part of this process of standing for election, I am happy to outline my work over the last nearly fifteen years on this board and my work within the community countywide over the last four decades. Since becoming a public employee in 1979, I have had a listed telephone number, and that continues to this date. That number is 530.289.3506, and my email is hangman@jps.net. Sincerely, LEE ADAMS Downieville
