Nov. 6, 3:42 PM — Sierra County has revised its vote count to 505 Yes, 912 No (64% against). As vote counts remain relatively stable, this will be the final update in this live article.
Nov. 5, 2:55 PM — Sierra County has updated its counted totals to 492 Yes, 885 No (64% against).
Nov. 5, 9:40 AM — Proposition 50 has passed, despite regional pushback. Sierra, Plumas, Lassen, Yuba, and Nevada counties have counted 63,224 ballots so far. 28,400 were Yes votes, and 34,824 No votes. In all, 55% of regional voters were against Proposition 50, despite the heavy influence of Nevada county due to its population.
8:30 PM — Nevada County reports that 17,264 voters chose Yes, with 13,875 voting No (55% for).
8:24 PM — Sierra County has recorded 455 Yes votes and 810 No votes so far (64% against).
8:23 PM — Plumas County has published initial results for its election. Out of 7,791 votes on Proposition 50 recorded so far, 2,971 voted for and 4,820 voted against (62% against).

SIERRA COUNTY — Ballot processing is underway for the Proposition 50 special election in Sierra County. The Sierra County Elections Office has completed counting ballots that arrived at the courthouse before Election Day and will publish initial results around 8 PM tonight.
When the ballot drop box in Loyalton closes at 8 PM, the box will be collected and transported by the Sheriff’s Office to the Downieville courthouse. The ballots from that dropbox and others arriving by mail will be processed tomorrow morning.
