LOST SIERRA — A nationally organized “No Kings” protest against the Trump administration occurred on Saturday, October 18, with offshoots in Grass Valley, Nevada City, and Quincy. YubaNet estimated that the main Grass Valley protest at the Brunswick overpass had between 2,500 and 3,500 participants. Gatherings also occurred at the Broad Street Bridge in Nevada City and on the Highway 20 overpass in Grass Valley.

In Quincy, several estimated that around 300 people gathered at Dame Shirley Plaza. Plumas Indivisible, Indian Valley Indivisible, and Plumas County Democrats organized the Quincy protest.

Imagery at both protests included United States flags and signs condemning tyranny and the perceived erosion of democracy under Trump’s leadership. Attendees at both protests also held signs in support of California’s Proposition 50, which aims to increase Democratic control in the federal government through redistricting.
