QUINCY — Plumas County Director of Public Works Rob Thorman announced at the March 17 meeting of the county Board of Supervisors that crews are taking advantage of the warm, dry weather to get an early start on clearing snow from county roads. Updates posted on the county website on March 20 show that the Plumas portion of Gold Lake Highway is clear of snow and open to traffic. The Sierra County side was still closed between the county line and Gold Lake as of Sunday, March 22, however.
The only Plumas County roads still shown as closed on the county’s website are Quincy-Laporte Road, where snow-removal work is in progress, and Frazier Falls Road (Old Gold Lake Road) in the Lakes Basin.
