13:05 - 911 hang up; static on the line in Sierra City.
14:26 - Weapon offense by a juvenile reported in Loyalton. It was determined there was no intention of a crime by the youngster. A good reminder things are not always as they appear!
Tuesday, April 9
08:54 - Reported burglary in “911 Hang up” territory - AKA Sierra City. Another civil issue.
09:32 - Fire drill notification. Do they still teach kiddos “Stop-Drop-and Roll”? I wonder.
09:44 - Now the big kids employed at the Courthouse building had a fire drill.
10:38 - Request for lift assistance in Loyalton.
13:07 - Welfare check requested in Downieville.
14:21 - A gaming license was surrendered in Downieville. Sidenote… I love pigs — they are cute — but I also desire bacon which reminds me of the endearing book The Good Good Pig by Sy Montgomery. A similar inner turmoil arises with hunting. I’m all for legalized hunting, but I also think all wildlife is precious and deserves to live. I’m torn. Anyway, I’m sure a bear gave a big thumbs up and a deer smiled at the surrendered license!
14:57 - Request for civil service in Goodyears Bar.
16:39 - Report of reckless driver near Vinton.
18:55 - Emergency SOS ping around Sierraville. Person was fine - most excellent news!
19:48 - A probation search was conducted in Loyalton. Oblige me this one time in sharing some lyrics to a song that runs through my head every time I work on the Blotter: “Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when they come for you?” Thank you. Got it out of my system. It is my solemn promise that you will not have to endure that entry ever again. But if you now have that song stuck in your head…I’m sorry. It’s rather annoying and it never seems to go away while I type the Blotter!
20:11 - Report of theft in Downieville. That ain’t good.
22:19 - Front row tickets were not for sale to the reported verbal family fight in Calpine. Darn!
Wednesday, April 10
08:17 - Report of a reckless driver near Loyalton High School.
09:53 - Investigation surrounding a threatening email to a Sierra County employee.
11:45 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.
16:22 - Downieville Assemblies of God church dealing with possible banking fraud. I’ll squash potential rumors right now – no fingers pointing at church attendees – appears to be a larger issue with online thievery common to the plight of mankind in 2024. But stealing the Lord’s money - geez. While I don’t believe in luck, all I can say is seriously – good luck with that!
16:26 - Another report of possible fraud in Downieville.
18:43 - Deputy contacted Downieville home owners about a possible burglary.
Thursday, April 11

17:26 - Commercial burglary alarm activated in Loyalton.
18:21 - Sheriff’s Office helped a citizen with a traffic ticket. Hands down (or even hands in cuffs), since the day Fisher became Sheriff and the trash took itself out (in my opinion) with the previous administration leaving, wouldn’t ya know – night turned to day and the department instantly became friendly and approachable. Thank you Sheriff Fisher!
21:26 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.
22:56 - Late night request for an ambulance in Loyalton.
Friday, April 12
08:57 - Report of trespassing in Sierraville.

11:12 - CHP busy once again, this time in Downieville - towing a (possibly vandalized) vehicle deemed to be a traffic hazard. We appreciate our CHP!
20:26 - Request for an ambulance in Downieville.
21:55 - Request for welfare check in Goodyears Bar.
