15:10 - Cal-Fire buzzed dispatch regarding a medical issue at Stampede Reservoir.
15:28 - Report out of Loyalton that a vehicle around Smithneck Road stayed put to the point someone deemed it suspicious. Maybe the driver needed a nap before driving off.
15:33 - Quite possibly the driver of the “suspicious” vehicle mentioned above saw a dog running carefree on the same Smithneck Road. Owners put the kibosh on the dog’s adventures, bringing their “furbaby” home.
17:51 - Yuba County quickly retracted a request for assistance in locating an overdue person around Canyon Creek Trailhead after they found the missing party.
20:26 - CHP notified of abandoned vehicle without plates in Sparks. Good times!

10:23 - Propane tank check in Loyalton. No need for alarm if the air smells like a catastrophe in the making. Everything will be alright. Go about your business.
12:02 - Certain folks on Sierra County Probation received a “kitchen pass” to go do life elsewhere…outside the county.
12:26 - CHP was notified that a motorcyclist around Sierraville was not wearing reflective gear. Is this a requirement during day hours? I’m gonna have to research, now I’m curious. But how about we focus on staying in our lane. Don’t cross the double yellow lines – especially on a curve and let’s stay off our phones while driving. Save a biker’s life.
13:50 - Report of child in Loyalton treated in an inappropriate fashion. No evidence has been found supporting this claim. Glad to hear it.
19:08 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.
Wednesday, April 17
10:44 - A fire spotted around Verdi pressed a concerned citizen to make a phone call. Dispatch confirmed it was a controlled burn.
16:41 - 911 open line near Downieville. Maybe it was the wind or dampness causing a problem line.
17:50 - A private property in Verdi might have hosted an unwelcome camper.
18:48 - Embezzlement reported in Loyalton. Geez, hope it’s not another Sierra County Behavioral Health employee. Don’t get me started.
18:54 - As if Ms. Groven didn’t already have enough on her plate, she’ll have to decide if the reported vandalism to a vehicle will result in criminal charges. Someone buy the hard working D.A. a coffee from Cold Rush. Well, that may look like bribery… better wait till she retires. Then buy her a coffee, or, if she wants, something stronger.
Thursday, April 18
01:07 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton for lift assistance.
Friday, April 19
01:48 - A Sierra County deputy going about life in the wee hours of the morning stopped to provide gas to a stranded individual along Marysville Road. Heartwarming. Seriously. No one wants to be stranded.
07:40 - Loyalton Fire at school function still available for calls - give ‘em a holler on the radio.
15:33 - The owner of an abandoned vehicle parked about four miles down County Road 93 near Downieville will get the rig out of there in the sweet by-and-by; tomorrow.
Saturday, April 20
12:44 - Loyalton has now met their weekly neighborhood dispute requirement for the Blotter. Kidding about the requirement, but we can’t have a week without a dispute - or can we? We shall see! This squabble is about a property line.

18:47 - Individual at Sierra Shangri-La was airlifted out on a medical helicopter.

10:16 - Caller asked dispatch if Mountain House Road was open.
12:07 - A non-profit group was referred to the correct county for needed information.
12:56 - Report of aggressive dog in Loyalton. Sidenote: All for legalized packing; private carry permits etc. I have yet to pack a firearm, however I do daily pack a few bones for my walk to work to give to highly disgruntled dogs on Main Street in Downieville. All I’m saying…maybe this Loyalton dog needs a bone and lots of love. Or maybe the dog is just a big fat jerk. Let’s try more love and some treats before we make any final judgments. Dogs are usually better creatures than most humans.
14:52 - Someone behind bars was thinking of the Sheriff’s Office and left them a message. Touching.
15:07 - Control burn outside the county could be seen from within the county.
16:00 - Deputy again helped remove rocks from the road near Sierra City.
16:47 - Lost faith in humanity? Just know right about this time someone found the wallet of a Sierra County resident and turned it over to the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office. Pretty cool!
16:52 - Report of animal cruelty in Loyalton. Glad to learn these calls and subsequent completed investigations find MANY claims to be unfounded. Sidenote: Regarding those who love you most in life, I firmly believe next in line to the “Big Man” upstairs, would be dogs and horses. Then spouses and kids. After the loving people in your life…your cat. Our cat, Admiral Krusher, wants everything on his terms. Granted, he’s around 18 years old – akin to a crotchety old man. He runs our house and keeps our German Shepherd in line. Reciprocity is often lacking in this particular relationship. Anyway, be good to your animals. If you have room, the heart and time to invest – pay it forward by redeeming a life from a shelter…from a kill shelter is even better!
23:24 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.
