07:53 - Controlled burning occurred at the Sattley Transfer Station.

10:34 - Juvenile issue in Loyalton was handled by probation.

10:43 - A truck and camper were reported to have been parked at the pizza parlor parking lot in Downieville for too long. Sacramento CHP was notified and advised the owner to move along.

10:51 - A bear issue in Sierra City was reported to Fish and Wildlife.

12:50 - Abandoned vehicle in Loyalton.

15:55 - A non-criminal complaint was lodged against a Loyalton Middle School staff member.

16:22 - A cyclist was reportedly walking a bicycle along Highway 89 near Sierraville and causing a traffic hazard. Susanville CHP was notified.

Friday, May 16

01:20 - A 911 caller reported hearing a vehicle driving around the Loyalton Cemetery with voices “screaming in enjoyment.” The Sheriff’s Office did not respond due to “no sight of crime occurring and no available deputies in the vicinity.”

06:22 - Medical pendant activation in Calpine was found to be accidental.

10:08 - The Sheriff’s Office was notified that the Loyalton High School Man Hunt event would be taking place that night.

10:40 - Welfare check in Loyalton found subjects to be doing fine.

10:54 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton but was later canceled.

11:01 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

11:13 - Detective Wheeler appeared for a case in Plumas County Court.

14:40 - Assistance requested to get a vehicle unstuck from snow near Saddleback Mountain Peak. The request was canceled after the Sheriff’s Office explained that it could transport the caller to a safe location, but other arrangements would need to be made for the vehicle.

16:39 - Fraud reported in Loyalton.

17:38 - A caller reported a reckless driver speeding and crossing double yellow lines through Sierra City. The caller hopes that reporting traffic offenses will help prevent the raising of speed limits in town.

20:17 - Loyalton High School student event in the Loyalton area.

21:07 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

21:08 - A 911 caller reported that three individuals had hopped fences. The activity was attributed to Loyalton High School’s Man Hunt. A deputy was already patrolling the area.

Saturday, May 17

10:18 - Ambulance requested in Sierra City, but the patient was released against medical advice.

12:43 - Motorcycle accident on Dog Valley Road near Forest was referred to Highway Patrol and medical personnel.

13:03 - Possible drunk driver on Highway 89 near Sierraville. Highway Patrol was notified.

18:08 - A caller reported that his family was stuck in snow in the Lakes Basin area. While on the phone to the Sheriff’s Office, the family called to report making it back to pavement safe and sound. No response was required.

19:50 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

20:01 - Property check requested on a cabin due to “abnormal outstanding phone bills.” A deputy did not find any signs of a break-in or occupancy.

Sunday, May 18

01:12 - Ambulance requested in Vinton. The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office took charge of the incident.

12:37 - California Fish and Wildlife provided information to the Sheriff’s Office.

15:26 - Reckless drivers reported to be on Highway 49 heading east from Camptonville.

17:19 - Citizens assist in Sierra City.
