07:31 - Probable wolf kill on a Sierra Valley ranch.

08:03 - Possible fire reported near Sierraville.

09:03 - Report of fire in the Peavine area near Chilcoot.

09:22 - Civil service successfully served in Sierraville.

10:15 - An overdue party in the Gold Lake Area was located safe.

12:06 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

13:21 - Child abuse investigation in Downieville.

16:30 - Report of a possible fire near Antelope Valley. The Forest Service did not locate any.

16:36 - Grove Fire reported near La Porte. The Forest Service responded and extinguished it.

21:49 - Trespassing reported in Downieville, but the reporting party did not want assistance from the Sheriff’s Office.

Tuesday, August 26

00:15 - Non-injury vehicle vs. deer crash near the state line.

08:34 - Illegal dumping reported near Chilcoot.

09:00 - Bear issue in Loyalton.

09:10 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

09:41 - Puppy found near Cottonwood Creek Campground in the Sierraville area.

10:22 - Abandoned vehicle near the state line.

18:02 - Report of lost property near Downieville.

18:19 - Cattle on the road near Loyalton. The owner was notified.

Wednesday, August 27

06:32 - Confirmed wolf kill of cattle on a Sierra Valley ranch.

06:41 - Tree down blocking traffic near Ramshorn. Caltrans was called in to clear it up.

08:24 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

11:47 - Abandoned vehicle near Chilcoot.

16:13 - Mudslides blocked Smithneck Road south of Sierra Brooks. The County Road Department was notified, and the road was closed.

18:42 - Report of someone not paying a taxi cab bill before being dropped off. Deputies and the Highway Patrol interviewed the involved parties. The Highway Patrol ended up transporting the taxi rider the rest of the way.

19:59 - A portion of Bear Valley Road near Sierra Brooks was closed after damage from flooding.

21:05 - A report of fire turned out to be a glow from a street light in the distance.

Thursday, August 28

11:11 - Abandoned vehicle in the middle of a cow pasture near Loyalton with the driver’s side door open and tire marks leading from the highway. Susanville Highway Patrol was notified.

17:44 - Report of someone being drunk and throwing things in Alleghany. Involved parties agreed to separate for the night after contact was made by a deputy.

19:18 - Sacramento Highway Patrol reported that a vehicle had a flat tire on Highway 49. It was later found that the car was not stuck and was at the owner’s residence.

22:28 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

23:01 - Report of a suspicious vehicle attempting to enter private property in Pike. None was found when a deputy arrived.

Friday, August 29

02:47 - Ambulance requested in Sierra Brooks.

04:30 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

05:24 - False burglary alarm activation in Loyalton.

08:33 - Confirmed wolf depredation in the Sattley area.

09:07 - Civil standby requested in Alleghany.

09:42 - Report of trespassing in Loyalton.

12:21 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

16:31 - Wolf sighting in Plumas County. The relevant authorities were notified.

17:24 - Accidental 9-1-1 call from Stampede Reservoir.

18:21 - Lift assist requested in Loyalton.

19:27 - Report of someone’s neighbors feeding wildlife. The reporting party was concerned that larger animals might become interested and cause damage. The Fish and Wildlife Conflict Hotline was notified.

Saturday, August 30

04:53 - Illegal campfire just outside of Sierra County near Beckwourth. Beckwourth Fire had the campers extinguish it.

05:06 - The Sheriff’s Office became involved in a mix-up involving someone who reported a car fire at Indian Valley Reservoir in Lake County.

07:17 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

08:28 - Cattle on Highway 89 south of Sierraville. Susanville Highway Patrol was notified.

10:57 - A family dispute over property resulted in a restraining order violation issue. Documentation was taken to be used at an upcoming court date.

11:10 - Report of off-highway vehicles driving illegally on paved roads at Jackson Meadows Reservoir. Truckee Highway Patrol was notified.

13:31 - Overdue party near Sierra City was found.

14:06 - Possible injured mountain lion in Sierra City. Fish and Wildlife was notified.

15:45 - Report of trash on the highway near Loyalton. Susanville Highway Patrol was notified.

17:17 - Multiple cows on the highway near Sierraville.

19:08 - Cows reportedly still on the highway south of Sierraville. Truckee Highway Patrol was called.

23:30 - Report of “strange lighting” coming from a Downieville mountainside. A deputy determined they were “from a business that has very bright lights.”

Sunday, August 31

03:30 - Someone had questions about the process of surrendering a dog.

06:12 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

11:06 - Report that a dog was possibly being shot with a BB gun in Loyalton.

12:53 - Report of vehicles blocking Sardine Lake Road. Sacramento Highway Patrol was notified.

13:25 - Ambulance requested in Downieville.

13:42 - Report of a dog locked in a vehicle with the windows up but with a note that said the air conditioning was on and the owner would be back soon.

15:41 - Accidental 9-1-1 call from Pike.

16:31 - Lost property in the Downieville area.

17:31 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

18:33 - A truck towing a boat broke down south of Sierraville. The owner was trying to fix the vehicle and would be able to call for a tow if unable to do so.

22:32 - AAA requested the Sheriff’s Office check on a possibly disabled vehicle in the Gold Lake area. A deputy could find no such vehicle.
