09:03 - Report of a wolf attack on a Sierra Valley ranch. Fish and Wildlife was notified.

09:04 - Possible wolf depredation on a Sierra Valley ranch. DNA tests turned up inconclusive. Fish and Wildlife was notified.

09:05 - Another possible wolf depredation, with DNA results inconclusive.

10:57 - Report that a Fish and Wildlife wolf-hazing strike team had chased wolves with drones onto the reporting party’s ranch, where a wolf then attacked a calf, leading to it being put down. DNA tests confirmed the euthanized calf was attacked by a wolf.

11:28 - Mountain lion sighting in Downieville.

11:43 - Possible restraining order violation in Verdi.

14:07 - Tow truck requested near Pike.

18:26 - Possible drunk driver in Sierraville.

19:11 - Someone had questions about an incident that occurred last year in Yuba County. The caller was referred to the proper authorities.

Wednesday, September 3

00:53 - Goodyears Fire started near Goodyears Bar. It has been contained.

00:54 - Lavezzola and Craycroft Fires started near Downieville. They have been contained.

07:29 - Ambulance requested in Sierra City.

08:08 - Possible wolf attack of cattle on a Sierra Valley ranch.

08:24 - An ambulance was requested in Loyalton but was later canceled.

09:34 - Possible fire near Downieville reported.

10:10 - Bear problem at the Shangri-La near Downieville.

12:32 - Juvenile issue at the Loyalton middle school.

13:11 - Union Fire reported near Downieville. The fire has been contained.

13:35 - The Downie Fire starts near Downieville. Also contained.

16:23 - A deputy made contact with a driver near Sierraville.

16:24 - Report of threats made in Sierra Brooks.

Thursday, September 4

06:47 - Two wolves spotted running across a field toward a local ranch. Fish and Wildlife were notified.

09:03 - Fish and Wildlife conducted “coyote abatement” in the Sierra Valley.

11:29 - Lift assist requested in Sierra City.

12:32 - Report of teenagers driving recklessly through Loyalton throughout the day. Warnings were given.

12:34 - “Report of loose cattle in and around Sierra Brooks.”

12:41 - False burglary alarm at a Loyalton commercial property.

13:45 - A family member attempting to locate the body of a deceased individual was directed to the relevant mortuary.

15:10 - Ambulance requested in Pike.

17:20 - Someone had questions about a possible restraining order violation. A deputy advised how to utilize the court system.

17:43 - Accidental 9-1-1 dial from Big Springs.

18:31 - A juvenile was refusing to return to a home in Loyalton. The juvenile and mother were spoken with, and the juvenile returned home after it was agreed that no argument would be had and that the pair would seek counseling.

19:13 - Lift assist requested in Sierra City.

20:25 - Welfare check requested for someone in Sierra Brooks. All was well.

20:30 - Injured deer in a Sierraville driveway. A deputy euthanized the deer, and the homeowner made arrangements for its removal.

20:48 - Suspicious vehicle reportedly stopping in front of Sierraville residences. A deputy could not locate it.

21:02 - Possible fire reported to be east of Treasure Mountain. The Forest Service did not find anything.

21:26 - Report that people were possibly taking items from the caller’s yard. A deputy found no one, and no items were missing.

Friday, September 5

04:24 - The Downieville School fire alarm went off in the middle of the night again. There was no fire.

09:25 - Report of a civil matter that turned into an assault in Loyalton. The reporting party did not want to press charges.

09:53 - Report of logging trucks speeding through Sierra City. Sacramento Highway Patrol was notified.

10:01 - Civil service in Sierra City.

10:28 - Possible Apple-related scam reported in Loyalton.

12:54 - Dead deer along Highway 89 near Sierraville. Caltrans was notified.

14:23 - Keystone Fire started near Sierra City. It has been contained.

14:48 - Convict Fire started near Indian Valley. It has been contained.

15:54 - Report of a red Chevrolet being driven recklessly through Loyalton.

20:37 - Someone in Loyalton reported receiving constant communication through a hidden government-created transceiver in his ear operating via the 29 MHz radio band, which no one else could see. He was advised to seek medical attention.

21:37 - Investigation in the Downieville area.

Saturday, September 6

09:05 - Possible wolf depredation on a Sierra Valley ranch found to be the work of coyotes.

13:46 - An elderly couple in Calpine with memory issues had items missing. The Sheriff’s Office determined that they were likely misplaced, and there was no evidence of forced entry.

14:51 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

15:02 - Name-calling in Loyalton. Incident report taken.

17:07 - Report of a suspicious male in Sierraville looking for his girlfriend, who had gone missing for several hours. A deputy was unable to locate the boyfriend or the girlfriend.

17:35 - Someone was lost in a sedan on the trail systems above Downieville. A deputy guided the driver back to the pavement.

20:57 - A caller was concerned about parents whose last known location was Downieville, inquiring about any vehicle accidents. The caller was advised of the lack of cell service and was no longer concerned.

21:49 - Accidental 9-1-1 call.

22:59 - Possible suspicious vehicle at a Sierra City business. The vehicle left while the reporting party was on the phone with the Sheriff’s Office.

Sunday, September 7

14:53 - Fireworks brought to the Sheriff’s Office in Downieville for disposal.

16:36 - A person was arrested for driving under the influence after a vehicle was reported to be partially parked on the highway near Sierra City.

16:52 - A white iPhone was found and handed over to the Sheriff’s Office.
