Monday, February 23

08:09 - Property found in Downieville was returned to its owner.

11:25 - Report of a wolf sighting in the Loyalton area. Images of the wolf were captured on a game camera approximately ten feet from a residence while the owner was not home.

12:55 - Report of a reckless driver in Downieville.

13:59 - Notification of a probation check in Quincy.

15:38 - Family fight in Sierraville.

17:25 - Information provided to the Sheriff’s Office.

18:12 - Report of a possible scam in Loyalton. The Sheriff’s Office advised the caller not to give out personal information.

20:07 - Someone was arrested in Downieville for a drug-related probation violation.

Tuesday, February 24

00:44 - Boulder blocking part of the northbound lane of Highway 49 at Depot Hill. The Highway Patrol was notified.

00:56 - Alarm activation at the Loyalton Elementary School. A deputy checked and cleared the premises.

07:23 - Report of a possible sinkhole forming on Highway 89 near Calpine.

07:33 - Report of a mountain lion problem in Sierra Brooks.

08:17 - A Nevada County Jail inmate was transported to court.

08:37 - Property found in Downieville was returned to its owner.

09:35 - Notification of a propane burn-off in Loyalton.

11:47 - Traffic hazard on the A23 county road.

12:32 - Report of a reckless driver in Sierraville.

13:35 - Report of harassment in Loyalton.

16:35 - Report of trespassing in Downieville.

16:45 - Information provided to the Sheriff’s Office.

Wednesday, February 25

09:41 - Accidental 9-1-1 call from Loyalton.

10:38 - Someone was arrested for weapon- and drug-related probation violations.

11:02 - False commercial burglary alarm activation in Loyalton.

12:23 - Report of threats made in Downieville.

15:37 - A deputy asked occupants of a vehicle on Highway 395 if they needed assistance, but they did not.

17:24 - A deputy assisted occupants of a disabled vehicle on Highway 49 near Loyalton.

20:04 - 9-1-1 call with static on the lines from Goodyears Bar. A deputy confirmed that no one was at the residence from which the call originated. The Sheriff’s Office determined the call was related to ongoing issues with water on the phone lines.

22:18 - Deputies assisted the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office with serving a search warrant in Chilcoot.

23:20 - Someone in Calpine accidentally called 9-1-1 while sleeping.

Thursday, February 26

07:33 - Request for Sierra County Behavioral Health assistance.

10:52 - Report of someone leaving a rehabilitation center in Quincy.

11:02 - Parking problem in Downieville. The owner of the offending vehicle was contacted and the vehicle was moved.

13:33 - Report of disturbing the peace in Loyalton.

Friday, February 27

04:22 - Burglary alarm at a residence in eastern Sierra County. The Sheriff’s Office attempted to contact the owner, who was not home at the time.

07:38 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

11:46 - Report of a restraining order violation in Loyalton.

12:12 - Civil service successfully served in Sierra City.

15:01 - Report of an elderly couple not returning to their vehicle after a hike on Gold Lake Highway. It was found that the couple owned a cabin accessed by that road.

16:22 - Report of someone causing trouble after being fired from a Loyalton business. Deputies separated the involved parties.

18:47 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

20:11 - A baby got hold of a phone at a residence near the state line and dialed 9-1-1 twice. A deputy made contact and cleared up the situation.

21:50 - A deputy conducted a probation search in Downieville.

21:58 - A deputy was flagged down in Downieville by individuals whose phones had been stolen. The deputy located the alleged thief shortly after and made an arrest on charges of grand theft and public intoxication.

23:46 - Ambulance requested in Sattley.

Saturday, February 28

15:58 - Report of a possible suicidal subject in Pike. The Behavioral Health department was contacted and made contact with the subject and family members.

17:15 - Report of off-highway vehicles tearing up a meadow near Sierra Brooks. The drivers were gone when a deputy arrived.

21:31 - Report of a possibly naked man at the Long Valley Agricultural Station. It was found that an employee of the station was acting abnormally and not cooperating with law enforcement. The US Department of Agriculture supervisor was contacted, and that agency took over the incident in cooperation with the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office.

22:41 - A caller reported incidents in San Bernardino County. The Sheriff’s Office says the caller has been reporting the same incident to several agencies over several years, and classified the call as mental health-related.

Sunday, March 1

04:15 - Report of a vehicle vs. tree crash in the Sierra Brooks area. There were several occupants in the vehicle. The driver had no license and reported the crash to the Sheriff’s Office after the occupants were home. It was later learned that two occupants suffered injuries and went to the hospital, and alcohol was suspected to be a factor. The Susanville Highway Patrol investigated, visited the hospital, and later arrested the driver for felony driving under the influence.

05:46 - An alarm was activated at a Sierraville business. It was determined to be caused by an ongoing issue, and no Sheriff’s Office response was needed.

10:19 - Ambulance requested for a dog bite to the face in Downieville. A report was taken.

11:46 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

16:21 - Request for assistance with backing out of a snow-covered road in the Verdi area. The caller was provided with information to contact 775 Offroad and Recovery.
