Sierra Hardware Expected to Remain Open During Repairs

DOWNIEVILLE — After meeting with contractors, the Sierra Hardware store in Downieville says that repair work will not require as much disruption to operations as initially thought. The store suffered extensive flooding on Thanksgiving and was expected to remain closed for an extended period. However, owner Cindy McCreary now says repairs can be made without moving out all the store’s merchandise into containers in the Sierra Hardware parking lot.

According to McCreary, Sierra Hardware will be open on its regular winter days, Tuesday through Saturday, except with shortened hours of 10 AM to 4 PM. McCreary expects the normal schedule to resume in the spring once all repairs are complete, including to the store’s office computer.
