Trailer Rollover on Highway 49 Prompts Towing Reminder
Officials urge drivers to inspect hitches, chains, and brakes after the non-injury crash.

GRASS VALLEY — Today, California Highway Patrol - Grass Valley responded to a rollover crash on Highway 49 near Young America Mine Road south of Grass Valley. The vehicle was a pickup truck towing a trailer that became disconnected and also rolled. The Highway Patrol says that the driver was not injured, but that the crash serves as a reminder to check equipment before towing. The agency shared the following towing tips:
Make sure your hitch and coupler are secure
Attach and cross your safety chains
Check trailer tires, lights, and brakes
Slow down and allow extra stopping distance
