Downieville Volunteer Fire Department EMS Day

DOWNIEVILLE — Join the Downieville Volunteer Fire Department (DVFD) on Saturday, May 24, 2025, as we recognize and salute all our first responders on the west side of Sierra County. These dedicated individuals include all the dispatchers for fire and the sheriff’s department, the fire and EMS responders, the USFS fire personnel of 332 and 331, the Sierra County Sheriff’s Office deputies, and our CHP officers.

These personnel go above and beyond, working as a team, responding to medical and rescue calls at any time, day or night, and saving lives.

Please join us while we take a moment to thank them for their continued commitment to ongoing training and service to their communities.

EMS Day will take place at DVFD Station 1 on 321 Main Street in Downieville from 10 AM to 2 PM. Meet our new paramedic, Corey, see demos of CPR and Stop the Bleed, learn how to become a member of the fire department or an EMT, tour our ambulances and other fire equipment, get answers to your insurance questions, and learn how to get a helicopter ambulance membership!

Hot dogs, chips, water, and cupcakes will be served.
