DOWNIEVILLE — A thank you and shoutout to our Downieville Community for their help and support for our Holiday On Main Event that was held on Saturday, December 9th. We had another successful year and greatly appreciate all of the craft vendors that participated. We had over twenty vendors this year! Funds raised from this event were donated to the Fire Auxiliary, which were over $700. Those funds will be used to help our Downieville Volunteer Fire Department. Unfortunately, we had to turn away some vendors for lack of space, but we’re hoping to expand next year. A special thank you to Sabrina at the Forks and Downieville Outfitters for generously donating their time, beautiful face painting, space, and revenue from their vendors. The Downieville Volunteer Fire Department provided fire truck rides for the children, and Cindy McCreary’s $200 donation towards the children’s stockings was greatly appreciated. Thank you to Shawn Maple for arranging for Santa to attend the event and hand out the gifts to the children, all of whom were on the NICE list. This year, we made a point of promoting all of the businesses in our winter wonderland, and many folks from out of town just loved our charming community. There were so many others that contributed to our success, including Cold Rush and Empire Provisions, Downieville Day Spa, Downieville Grocery, Two Rivers Café, La Cocina Del Oro, Rebecca Mooers, and Downieville Improvement Group. A special thank you goes out to Mindy Strine for her overwhelming support, guidance, and decorations. And a final thank you to all who came out to enjoy, shop, and make merry in our wonderful wintery town.
