Press Release by Sierra County Sheriff’s Office On October 21, 2023, at 9:48 a.m., the Sierra County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting that a juvenile had accidentally been shot in the leg by another juvenile. The Loyalton Fire Department and the Eastern Plumas ambulance responded and provided medical treatment to the injured juvenile, who was subsequently transported to Renown Medical Center in Reno, Nevada. The Sierra County Sheriff’s Office continued to be present at the scene, conducting an investigation and interviewing several cooperative individuals. Due to the involvement of juveniles in this case, no further information will be disclosed.
