Brewfest Proceed Presentation Misunderstanding

Dear Editor,

We would like to clear up a misunderstanding regarding last week’s article “Brewfest Proceeds Presented to Downieville Fire.” We were not in attendance as “representatives” of the Fire Department. We were merely there to support the Downieville Improvement Group’s 2024 Brewfest Co-Chair, Stephanie Villa, as she made the presentation to Cherry Simi, Fire Commission Member (who also “happens” to be the DIG President). Once again, highlighting the fact that a volunteer often wears many hats, especially in a small town.
