DOWNIEVILLE — Today, the Downieville Improvement Group (DIG) presented a $10,000 check to the Downieville Fire Protection District from the 2024 Downieville Mountain Brewfest proceeds. The donation is to be added to the fund for building a new Downieville fire station, which now has over $300,000 thanks to this addition. Cherry Simi and Stephanie Villa, who were crucial in organizing this year’s Brewfest, handed the symbolic check to Mike and Karen Galan, representing the Fire Protection District. Brewfest Chairman Mike Taylor, who was initially scheduled to do the presentation, was unable to make the meeting.
The date for the 2025 Downieville Mountain Brewfest has been set for Saturday, September 6th, and will continue the effort of fundraising to “improve Downieville.” Tickets purchased in advance are $35 and $45 at the door. More information about next year’s event can be found at downievillebrewfest.com.
