Our Man of the Mountain, Dick Siebrecht, left us in March, a few days after his 88th birthday.
Dick’s crisp memory for names and dates, as well as of Sierra City history, never ceased impressing us. He was our local storyteller; one of the few remaining.
We will miss Dick’s golden Ford F-250 cruising over Packer Ridge on Road 93, which he built as a TNF field engineer, and seeing it loaded bringing Christmas trees down the mountain to Nevada City.
Dick’s DNA was made of Primrose Mine dust, and his gold fever never subsided.
A memorial and toasting on the Mountain are planned after the snow melts. If the details are of interest to you or you have a memory to share, please email primrosetrees@gmail.com.
