Ice Cream Social a Success

The Sierra County Arts Council hosted a fantastic Ice Cream Social event on Saturday at the North Yuba River Hall. Ten entrants offered homemade ice cream flavors for community members and visitors to sample and enjoy. Attendance was excellent, with guests flowing in from opening time at noon to the cutoff at 2 pm.

First place was won handily by Sarah Folsom, who made a perfect “Stinson Beach Lemon Special” with fresh Meyer lemons. Second place went to an Oreo cookie ice cream by Mary Jungi. Third place was tied between Joan Nolan’s Frosty’s Fudge & Caramel Swirl and Laurie Halliday’s Brown Butter Pecan. A total of 82 votes were cast.
