Longboard Race Winners Needed "Dope" in Wet and Sticky Snow

January 19, 2023

JOHNSVILLE — During the initial competition of the 2023 Longboards season on January 15th, 10 women and 20 men competed amidst snowy conditions in Johnsville. With the deep snow being wet and a little sticky, the type of “dope” skiers applied to their skis was definitely a factor in determining the winners of the races arranged by the Plumas Ski Club. The next race is scheduled for February 19th.

Winners of the men's competition, from left to right, Geoff "Jeffrey Pine" Newsted (2nd Place), Adam "The Interloper" Henriques (1st Place), and Greg “Slickbottom” Hinds (3rd Place).

Winners of the women's competition, from left to right, Rachel "The Rascal" Bauer (3rd Place), Truly "Truski von Bruski" Hinds (1st Place), and "Calamity" Abby Marshall (2nd Place).
