Plumas County is conducting a survey.

PLUMAS COUNTY — Plumas County announced a community-wide survey on April 10 as part of its ongoing strategic planning process. The initiative gives residents a chance to share views on quality of life and to rank needs across several areas. Officials expect the feedback to guide decisions on county services, investments, and long-term goals. The effort marks the latest step in a process that began in 2025 when the Board of Supervisors voted to create the county’s first organizational strategic plan.

The survey asks participants about public safety, roads and infrastructure, health and social services, economic vitality and community development, and ways county government can serve all areas more effectively. Residents complete the form online at plumascounty.us/3416/Community-Survey. The questionnaire takes 15 to 20 minutes and remains open until May 8. Responses stay anonymous and confidential, and participants may skip any question.

County leaders plan free in-person meetings during the week of May 4 to gather additional comments. Sessions occur in each of the five supervisorial districts, plus one online option. The meetings are scheduled as follows:

  • Monday, May 4: Chester (District 3) — Chester Memorial Hall at 5:30 PM

  • Tuesday, May 5: Greenville (District 2) — Greenville High School Library at 5:30 PM

  • Wednesday, May 6: Quincy (District 4) — Quincy Library at 12:00 PM

  • Wednesday, May 6: Blairsden (District 5) — Mohawk Community Resource Center at 5:30 PM

  • Thursday, May 7: Portola (District 1) — Portola Memorial Hall at 5:30 PM

  • Thursday, May 7: Online (Zoom) — plumascounty.us/3415/Workshop at 12:00 PM

No registration is required for any session.

“Our strength as a county comes from the voices of our residents. Your input will help us better understand what’s working, what needs improvement, and how we can build a stronger future together. By participating, residents will help shape the future of Plumas County and ensure that every community is heard,” said Mimi Hall, Chair, Plumas County Board of Supervisors.

The strategic planning process began in June 2025 after a presentation to the Board of Supervisors. An initial survey in August 2025 focused on mission, vision, and values statements. County leaders adopted eight core values as the foundation later that year. The current survey expands outreach to collect detailed resident priorities on county services. Plumas County officials stated that survey results will help identify goals and support data-driven choices on resource allocation.
