Press Release by Plumas National Forest QUINCY, CA — The Plumas National Forest recently started the process for solicitation of proposals for a concession special use permit for recreation facilities on the Beckwourth and Mount Hough ranger districts with the publication of a prospectus. This includes 40 campgrounds, group campgrounds, boat launches, and day use sites located at Frenchman Lake, Lake Davis, Lakes Basin and Antelope Lake recreation areas and Feather River Canyon. Prospective applicants can find detailed information on this business opportunity, the Forest Service concessionaire program and policies, the special use permit, application process, and post-selection requirements in the prospectus. The prospectus and all appendices are posted on the Plumas National Forest webpage at www.fs.usda.gov/plumas and on SAM.gov at https://sam.gov/opp/be21d45a9c97428d8396e54ad396e17c/view. Applicants must submit the required processing fee and business evaluation fee with their proposal. All prospective applicants are advised to read the prospectus carefully. All applicants must submit one hard copy and one electronic copy of their application package. Applications must be received by close of business (4:30 p.m. PST) on Monday, January 15, 2024. Following the process, it is expected for a permit to be issued and operations to begin by May 1, 2024. The permit term is initially for 5 years.
