QUINCY — The September 9 meeting of the Plumas County Board of Supervisors began with an unusual closed session with one item on the agenda: “Public employee appointment or employment – County Administrative Officer.” For several weeks, a similar item has been included on the agenda for the customary closed sessions that follow public Board meetings. However, when the public was allowed to return to the room, Board Chairman Kevin Goss said there was “no reportable action” on that item.
The Board’s only other actions were approval of items on the consent agenda and a resolution setting bond rates for the Plumas Unified School District, Plumas District Hospital, and Seneca Healthcare District.
District 1 Supervisor Dwight Ceresola also gave an update on the situation with wolves in Sierra Valley. He said that the “three main wolves are still actively killing” and have brought their pups out “two or three times,” causing the death count to increase. He invited citizens to contact him with any additional questions; an email address is provided on the Board of Supervisors’ web page at https://www.plumascounty.us/229/District-One.
