Portola Announces August 15 Wildfire Preparedness Event

PORTOLA — Portola City Manager Ryan Bonk announced by email that the city will hold its second Wildfire Preparedness Fair Saturday, August 15, at 683 West Street in Portola. The event will run from 11 AM to 2 PM and will feature free barbecue and updates from partner organizations, including the City of Portola, Portola Firewise Community, Terra Fuego Resource Foundation, the Plumas County Office of Emergency Services, and Plumas County Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD). Beckwourth Peak Fire Protection District, Cal Fire, the Forest Service, and the Northern Sierra Air Quality District are also scheduled to participate.
