PORTOLA — The Western Pacific Railroad Museum in Portola will host its annual Pumpkin Patch Express during the weekends of October 18-19 and 25-26. The museum opens at 10 AM on those four days, and regular trains depart hourly between 1 PM and 5 PM. Organizers also plan to bring back the popular Super Spooky Night Trains, which run hourly between 7 PM and 9 PM on Saturdays.

Riders board the Halloween-decorated trains at the museum’s Diesel Shop for a short trip to the Pumpkin Patch. Once there, families can select and buy pumpkins to take home. Admission costs $15 per car, or $10 per car when visitors donate three cans of non-perishable food to the EPCAN Food Bank. Members of the Feather River Rail Society receive free entry by showing a membership card.

Additional details are available at pumpkin.wplives.org. Organizers also welcome calls to (530) 832-4131.
