This past Tuesday, December 20, the regular Senior Lunch at the Community Hall in Downieville was particularly festive and well attended because Earlene Folsom, a long-standing member of the Golden Rays, funded a prime rib meal for the public with all the trimmings, horseradish, baked potatoes (with sour cream, butter, and green onions available for those without heart problems), roasted carrots and green beans, french bread, catered by Sabrina at the Forks. A host of assorted pastries (cupcakes, mini-scones, banana nut bread, etc.) created by Downieville's Autumn Long-McGee's of Butter Me Up were also available for the attendees who were not too full of all the excellently prepared food they had consumed. A joyous time was had by everyone before their naps.
