QUINCY — Plumas Rural Services will hold a free dog walk in downtown Quincy on Saturday, October 3, to raise awareness of domestic violence. Registration begins at 10:30 AM in The Knook Courtyard, 437 Main Street, where the walk will start and end.
Walkers can stop at participating locations downtown for dog treats. The event will also feature a dog costume contest with a prize, paw print art, a Guess the Kibble contest, and free lunch provided by The Knook.
The event is sponsored by the agency’s Domestic Violence Services program, Pet Country, and High Sierra Animal Rescue.
Plumas Rural Services says its Domestic Violence Services program serves survivors and their children in Plumas and Sierra counties, offering safety planning, case management, and temporary emergency shelter. Its shelter accepts pets with approval.
Participants can register online and indicate whether they would like lunch. For event information, call 530-283-2735, extension 866. The Domestic Violence Services office can be reached at 530-283-5675.
