QUINCY — The Lost Sierra Food Project will host its annual Pumpkin Patch on Saturday, October 4, at Rugged Roots Farm near downtown Quincy. The event runs from 11 AM to 3 PM and includes children’s activities, food from High Sierra Sheep Co., beer from Quintopia Brewing, herbal mocktails, ice cream, and live bluegrass music by the local band “Fish Tacos.” Pumpkins, priced from $5 to $15 based on size, will also be available for purchase. Although SNAP and EBT payments are not accepted, individuals receiving those benefits can request a half-off discount at checkout.
The Pumpkin Patch serves as the Lost Sierra Food Project’s largest annual fundraiser. The nonprofit organization operates a 2.5-acre production farm and offers agricultural education, workforce development, and community enrichment programs to Plumas County residents and visitors. Proceeds from the event support various services, including providing food to local households, hosting school field trips, managing paid internships for high school students, conducting summer farm camp sessions, and increasing access to fresh, affordable, local food.
