The largest missing person case in the Northern Sierra for many years has been ongoing since 16-year-old Kiely Rodni, a student entering her junior year at Truckee High School, went missing in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 6th, after attending a party of 200-300 high school students at the Prosser Family Campground, just north of Truckee. The party was in celebration of recent Truckee High School graduates going off to college and attendees came from as far across the region as Reno, Auburn, Carson City, and South Lake Tahoe. Rodni’s mother received a text from her shortly before her disappearance saying that she would be home within 45 minutes, but alerted authorities when her daughter failed to return.

Currently, the investigation, led by the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, includes 82 county, state and federal personnel – down from nearly 300 a few days prior. Rodni’s vehicle, a silver 2013 Honda CRV with license plate 8YUR127, has yet to be located, leading authorities to treat the case as an abduction.

Rodni is 5’7” tall, weighs 118 lbs., and possesses blonde hair and hazel eyes. Her phone was last pinged at 12:33 AM on August 6th near the edge of Prosser Creek Reservoir and dive teams have scoured the lake but could not locate her there.

Thirteen days after her disappearance, there is still no trace of young Kiely Rodni. The Placer County Sheriff, however, has asked the public to keep an eye out for her and her car and send them any information they may have on her whereabouts to them via linktr.ee/placersherif.
