Tuesday, January 27

02:12 - Suspicious circumstances concerning a call made to the Sheriff’s Office. The Office investigated but decided to close the call due to insufficient information.

07:04 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

08:11 - Controlled burn in Sierraville.

11:18 - A lost dog found on Highway 49, 10 miles from Downieville, was returned to its owner.

12:52 - “Smoke check” in the Long Valley area.

Wednesday, January 28

07:21 - The Forest Service conducted a controlled burn near Stampede Reservoir.

09:04 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

11:14 - Assistance requested with getting a vehicle unstuck from snow on Dog Valley Road. The caller was provided with a phone number to contact the 775 Offroad and Recovery group.

19:45 - Deputies found a running vehicle along Highway 49 with nobody around. They located the owners, who were gold panning at the river and were planning to continue for a while.

Thursday, January 29

05:51 - Report of a dog barking nonstop in Vinton. The information was transferred to the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office.

09:27 - “Unverified” report of trespassing in Loyalton. The Sheriff’s Office believes a mental health issue was likely involved.

09:40 - Civil standby requested in Sierra City.

09:46 - Silent alarm activated at a Sierra County department office building in Downieville. It was found to be an accidental activation.

13:18 - Report of a possible firearm offense and child endangerment at the Loyalton Middle School. Since the reported “firearm” was a toy, the report was deemed unfounded.

14:13 - A request for a civil standby in Downieville was cancelled after it was found that a homeowner was not home.

15:43 - Civil dispute in Downieville.

19:26 - A Health Aide company requested a welfare check on a client after not being able to contact the person following a medical alert activation. A deputy could not locate the subject, but did receive word that the person had voluntarily entered a facility and was safe there.

Friday, January 30

08:55 - Report of the theft of $2,000 worth of items from a California Fish and Wildlife facility in December.

10:39 - Civil dispute in Goodyears Bar.

11:07 - Property check requested near Loyalton.

17:10 - Information provided to a deputy.

18:54 - Civil standby requested in Downieville.

11:10 - Someone was arrested in Goodyears Bar on a felony Sierra County warrant.

11:23 - Someone was reportedly disturbing the peace in Loyalton.

13:17 - Another report of disturbing the peace in Loyalton.

15:52 - Request for assistance getting a vehicle unstuck from snow near Babbitt Peak. 775 Offroad and Recovery assisted.
