Monday, February 9

05:51 - Bale of hay on Highway 49 near Sierraville. The Highway Patrol was notified.

10:03 - Report of someone possibly sleeping in a vehicle in the Verdi area.

10:33 - Mental health issue in Sierraville.

12:49 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

15:04 - Civil standby requested in Downieville.

Tuesday, February 10

00:10 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

06:45 - An inmate was transported from the Nevada County jail for court.

09:36 - Controlled burn near Sierraville.

10:45 - Report of vicious dogs in Sierra City.

11:39 - Report of smoke near Border Town.

11:55 - Traffic violation in Downieville.

12:40 - Civil service in Sierraville.

13:47 - Request for civil service in Pike.

14:09 - Out-of-county child custody issue.

15:56 - Traffic hazard on Highway 49 near Loyalton.

16:49 - Report of threats made in Sierra City.

18:26 - Report of a possible family fight in Sierraville. Deputies responded, but no crime had been committed.

19:19 - Investigation in Downieville.

Wednesday, February 11

08:18 - Dog problem in Sierraville.

13:27 - Civil standby completed in Downieville.

13:41 - Open 9-1-1 line from the Loyalton Elemental School. Deputies responded but found nobody in need of assistance.

14:00 - Request to assist another agency with a possible mental health issue in Sierraville.

16:54 - Civil service requested in Downieville.

18:44 - Report of a possible unattended fire. A deputy found that the fire was unattended but within a fire pit. The fire died down on its own, and the Fire Department confirmed that weather conditions allowed it to burn down without supervision.

22:47 - Ongoing mental health issue in Sierraville.

Thursday, February 12

01:17 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

08:57 - Information provided to the Sheriff’s Office that another agency would be assisting a family in Sierraville.

09:54 - Notification of a residential controlled burn in Sierraville.

12:17 - Open 9-1-1 call from the Verdi area. The owner of the residence from which the call originated was contacted, and the call was traced to an ongoing AT&T issue.

12:54 - Someone from Sierraville was placed on a mental health hold and admitted to Tahoe Forest Hospital.

14:15 - Report of vandalism in Sierraville.

16:38 - Report of an unoccupied vehicle near the state line, but it was found to be occupied.

21:22 - A caller wanted to file a missing persons report. However, it was found that the caller had no relation to the person being reported missing, and the caller later wanted to also report the same person having committed “heinous crimes.” After a deputy spoke with the caller, it was determined that mental health was likely involved, and there was no proof, victims, or other information.

Friday, February 13

17:01 - Request for PG&E to expedite turning on the Sierra City town generator during a power outage “due to many elderly needing power for their breathing machines.”

17:06 - Report of a reckless driver near Downieville crossing double yellow lines with a juvenile unrestrained in the front street. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle.

20:05 - Ambulance requested in Calpine but was later canceled.

Saturday, February 14

08:28 - Power outage in Pike due to the Colgate Powerhouse penstock incident. PG&E crews conducted repairs and deployed a temporary generator. “Support resources” were also established in Pike and Camptonville.

08:34 - Report of a dead dog in Sierra Brooks. The owner located and retrieved the dog.

13:04 - Lift assist requested in Loyalton.

13:09 - Report of possible health and building code violations in Sierra City.

15:50 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

19:30 - A deputy performed field sobriety tests during a traffic stop in Downieville.

Sunday, February 15

19:40 - Coroner’s case on US-395 near the state line.

21:52 - Request for mutual aid for a structure fire in North San Juan.

21:56 - Another coroner’s case on US-395 near the state line.
