09:19 - Report of an email scam and possible fraud out of state.

16:27 - Someone was arrested for battery on her family and a peace officer in Loyalton.

17:31 - Controlled burn in the Sierra Valley.

21:40 - The Sheriff’s Office assisted a Sierra County resident in getting law enforcement in Washington to perform a welfare check on a friend who made concerning social media posts.

Thursday, May 8

06:21 - Sierra County officers participated in a job fair at Chico State University.

06:37 - Sierra County inmates were transported to court from the Nevada County jail.

08:47 -A request for a civil standby in Loyalton was cancelled after parties found other means to keep the peace.

12:07 - Officers picked up a vehicle from an out-of-county maintenance shop.

17:05 - A Calpine juvenile was transported via ambulance and placed on a 5150 hold for psychological evaluation.

18:04 - Solo motorcycle accident in Alleghany with injuries. The patient was transported to the hospital.

19:12 - Someone in a vehicle in Sierra Brooks was screaming at another person, potentially in retaliation for an earlier incident. Documentation was written.

20:31 - Someone on a Sierra Valley ranch reported that a black-collared wolf had approached to within 200 feet of the individual and a dog, did not appear to be afraid, and only walked away after the reporting party yelled and waved at it.

21:16 - Family fight and vandalism in Sierra Brooks.

Friday, May 9

09:23 - Welfare check requested for someone in Calpine. The check was canceled after the subject was found to be in another county.

09:24 - Report of an unsecured door and possible burglary in Downieville, but deputies found no signs of forced entry.

09:41 - Another agency requested assistance from the Sheriff’s Office and then canceled the request.

11:41 - Welfare check requested in Sierra Brooks. Subject found to be doing fine.

13:25 - The Sheriff’s Office assisted the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office and US Department of Agriculture Trapper George Affonso in collecting DNA swabs on a calf kill. Affonso confirmed wolf depredation but could not obtain DNA samples due to coyotes scavenging the carcass.

14:05 - Lost keys reported in Downieville.

14:34 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

19:34 - Ambulance requested in Downieville.

Saturday, May 10

01:45 - Ambulance requested in Downieville.

07:35 - Sierra County Fire conducted a controlled burn in Sierraville during a training event.

09:20 - Abandoned vehicle report on national forest land. The Forest Service was notified.

12:35 - A bear walked up on a Verdi woman while she was mowing her lawn. Fish and Wildlife was notified.

15:52 - Reckless Driver in the Cottonwood Creek Campground area.

16:11 - Report of stranded boaters in Stampede Reservoir, but the boaters were able to contact a friend who assisted them to shore.

20:46 - Information provided to the Sheriff’s Office from Loyalton.

20:51 - Report of party sounds coming from a Sierra City house. A deputy spoke with some of the partygoers, who said they would keep the noise down. Fun is not allowed in Sierra City!

23:16 - Lift assist requested in Loyalton.

Sunday, May 11

08:38 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

13:13 - Traffic hazard near Loyalton reported.

16:11 - A street light was blown over by the wind next to White’s gas station in Loyalton.

17:39 - The Sheriff’s Office and Forest Service responded to a fire near Stampede Reservoir, which was contained.
