10:23 - Someone was having a seizure at Shaffer’s High Sierra Camp. The reporting party transported the patient to the hospital.

11:00 - Bear problem in Calpine.

11:37 - Theft reported on a mining claim near Downieville.

14:19 - Fish and Wildlife conducted wolf patrol in the Sierra Valley.

17:30 - Possible reckless driver near Loyalton.

20:28 - A caller wanted a deputy to help retrieve a set of car keys in Loyalton that the caller had allowed a family member to borrow.

21:53 - Report of a vehicle stopping in front of Verdi residences.

Tuesday, July 29

07:26 - The Sheriff’s Office assisted someone with information on how to stop telemarketer calls.

09:02 - Coroner’s case at Logger Campground.

09:41 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

10:06 - Report of property damage in Loyalton.

11:01 - Transport provided for someone coming from Wayne Brown Correctional Facility.

12:08 - Information provided to the Sheriff’s Office.

17:51 - Request for a welfare check on an individual in Goodyears Bar. The subject was safe and sound.

19:18 - “A call was pulled to document a pattern of behavior of an elderly neighbor” in Loyalton.

22:25 - Family fight at the campground next to the Stampede Reservoir boat ramp. The Highway Patrol and Sierra County deputies separated the parties for the night.

Wednesday, July 30

08:02 - Information provided to the Sheriff’s Office.

10:45 - Juvenile-involved investigation in Sierra City.

10:49 - Assistance requested for access to a public telephone.

13:52 - Report of a family fight between siblings in Loyalton. Parents were called in to handle it.

17:36 - Confirmed wolf kill of a calf in the Sierra Valley. Fish and Wildlife notified.

Thursday, July 31

08:02 - Information provided to the Sheriff’s Office.

11:23 - 911 hang-up with static on the line from Sardine Lake Road.

13:47 - Ambulance requested for a vehicle rollover on Highway 89.

14:14 - Report of an abandoned vehicle near Cal-Ida. Highway Patrol notified.

14:32 - Someone requested assistance with transportation from Wayne Brown, but later was able to find a ride.

15:43 - Possible illegal dumping near Alleghany. A deputy is investigating.

15:55 - Ambulance requested for a Life Alert activation in Loyalton.

16:33 - Confirmed wolf depredation on a calf. Fish and Wildlife notified.

16:42 - Open 911 line from the Sierraville area. Deputies were unable to locate the caller.

17:37 - Vehicle vs. deer crash near Stampede Reservoir. Highway Patrol was notified.

17:50 - A deputy provided a ride to a Pacific Crest Trail hiker from Sierra City to the trailhead.

21:09 - Ambulance requested in Downieville.

21:56 - Ambulance requested in Sierraville.

Friday, August 1

08:59 - Report of a non-street-legal dirt bike driving recklessly on Highway 49 through Sierra City. Sacramento Highway Patrol was notified.

13:25 - Possible grand theft reported in Downieville, but the issue was resolved after a deputy spoke to the reporting party.

14:44 - An overdue party in the Sierraville area was located safe and sound.

14:56 - Ambulance requested in Sierra City.

15:45 - Report of a wolf depredation on a cow. Fish and Wildlife notified.

17:20 - Someone was harassing people while intoxicated on Main Street in Downieville. A deputy made contact with and admonished the harasser.

17:32 - Phone number of a Plumas County establishment requested with the aim of getting a vehicle in Queen City unstuck.

17:49 - Report of possibly impaired drivers near Loyalton, but they were gone before the law arrived.

18:33 - Possible intoxicated driver reported in the Webber Lake Area. A deputy made contact and learned that the driver was lost and the sun was in the driver’s eyes. Response was canceled.

20:05 - A calf had broken out of a ranch and was on Highway 49 in the Sierra Valley. A deputy and a passing rancher chased it back through the fence.

21:02 - Possible drunk driver in Loyalton reported, but the person got a ride from a sober driver.

21:46 - Welfare check requested on someone in Loyalton. The person appeared to be fine.

Saturday, August 2

06:35 - Report of a bear attack on a dog on Galloway Street in Downieville. The dog succumbed to its injuries.

08:44 - Report of three wolf depredations of calves on one Sierra Valley ranch. Fish and Wildlife contacted.

10:37 - Phone number of an out-of-state sheriff’s office requested for dealing with a domestic situation.

11:05 - Welfare check requested for a Susanville Highway Patrol officer in Loyalton who could not be contacted. The officer was found and was okay.

13:29 - A bear was repeatedly getting into dumpsters at Bassetts Station. Fish and Wildlife notified.

14:39 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

14:58 - Report of smoke near Upper Little Truckee Campground led to the discovery of a vegetation fire. The Forest Service and Cal Fire responded to extinguish it.

17:21 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

18:22 - Report of a fire in Cold Springs, Nevada. Agencies were already responding.

18:57 - 911 hang-up from the Verdi area. Nothing was found when the area was checked.

19:16 - Disabled vehicle at Cold Creek Campground. The driver needed assistance with getting a tow.

20:43 - Report of people having an argument while walking down the middle of Highway 49 near Sierra City. A deputy could not locate anyone.

21:15 - Fire reported on Commercial Street in Downieville. The Downieville Fire Department was able to put it out.

Sunday, August 3

09:00 - Wolf sighting in the Calpine area reported.

09:02 - Report of a wolf attack on cattle near Sierraville.

18:55 - Deputies unsuccessfully attempted service in Sierraville on an outstanding warrant.

20:05 - A herd of cattle was scheduled to cross Highway 49 near Loyalton on Monday. Arrangements needed to be made for traffic control.
