11:45 - Loose cattle in Sierraville.

13:31 - Vegetation fire in Verdi.

13:46 - The Sheriff’s Office assisted another agency in Vinton.

14:58 - Someone was charged with domestic violence in Loyalton.

17:00 - Lost dog in the Loyalton area.

17:09 - A citizen was assisted in Sierra Brooks.

18:07 - Report of a parking problem in Goodyears Bar.

18:13 - Mental health issue in the Lakes Basin area.

19:58 - Civil standby requested in Loyalton.

20:42 - Solo vehicle accident near Stampede Reservoir. The driver was arrested for being under the influence.

21:07 - A deputy came across an illegal camper, whom he admonished.

Wednesday, July 9

08:02 - Report that a fire near Sunrise Reservoir was continuing to smolder after being extinguished.

10:25 - Ambulance requested for a rock climbing accident near the state border along Interstate 80.

11:49 - Possible illegal camping on private property in Sierra City.

12:23 - Report that a vehicle had been abandoned in the middle of a Plumas County road.

13:14 - Ambulance requested on a hiking trail near Cal-Ida.

14:37 - Motorcycle crash on Highway 49 near Goodyears Bar.

15:16 - Information was given about an inmate in the El Dorado County Jail.

16:59 - Someone was arrested in Sierra Brooks on a Sierra County warrant.

18:13 - Someone reported a “suspicious pile of pine needles and wood” near train tracks by Interstate 80. Deputies determined it was a clean-up pile.

19:08 - Civil dispute in North San Juan.

20:37 - Brush fire near Border Town. The Highway Patrol and Truckee Meadows Fire responded and put it out.

Thursday, July 10

00:01 - Report that a vehicle with a flat tire was driving along Highway 49, attempting to find a turnout. The driver said that he would change the tire once a turnout was found.

06:26 - A Wayne Brown Correctional Facility inmate was transported to court.

07:27 - Wolves reportedly causing issues at a Sierraville Ranch, including the injury of a calf that later died from its wounds.

08:19 - Bear problem reported in Sierra City.

09:17 - Welfare check requested near Bassetts.

09:19 - Possible vandalism in Loyalton.

10:23 - Mistaken report of theft in Loyalton. The item was found.

10:25 - Information given that the Downieville Classic mountain bike race will take place August 7 through 10th.

10:33 - Information given that the Agony Ride, a 24-hour bike-a-thon, will take place on the east side of the county starting at 1 PM on July 25 through the 26th.

11:22 - Possible theft of firearms from a Downieville residence.

13:16 - Report of people jumping from Durgan Bridge in Downieville.

16:01 - Parking problem in Downieville.

16:20 - Cattle reported to be trespassing on a Pike property.

17:00 - Someone received a call from supposed jail staff requesting bail payment for a relative of the person who received the call. Later, a call was also received from someone identifying as a bail bondsman. The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the calls were likely scams.

18:27 - Possible criminal threats made on 1st Divide Trail in Downieville from a mining claim partner. No crime was deemed to have occurred since nothing physical took place, but a deputy made contact and advised the caller on how to handle the situation in the future.

Friday, July 11

06:11 - Ambulance requested in Downieville.

07:25 - Report of someone slumped over in a vehicle near Verdi. Washoe County deputies made contact and determined Sierra County need not respond.

07:52 - Fish and Wildlife on patrol in eastern Sierra County.

08:22 - An Accidental 911 call was made by someone in Downieville.

10:10 - Report of “a suspicious call from someone needing help.” The request for help was determined to be unfounded.

12:59 - Fish and Wildlife was notified of a natural waterway alteration in Loyalton.

14:33 - The Sheriff’s Office received information that a subject arrested in Reno was released on bail.

15:06 - Report of dogs left in a vehicle in Downieville. The owner was found and spoken to, and the dogs were okay.

15:15 - Report that people were having a party near Deer Lake. The Forest Service determined that there were no signs of illegal fires or “abnormal issues.”

15:56 - Civil service requested in Loyalton.

17:08 - Ambulance requested in Downieville.

17:37 - Someone surrendered themselves for court-ordered jail time for reckless driving.

18:37 - Report of a hit and run that may have been caused by an intoxicated driver. The Highway Patrol was notified.

18:50 - Single-vehicle accident on Highway 49 on the east side of the county. Loyalton Fire, Susanville Highway Patrol, a Sierra County deputy, and Eastern Plumas Ambulance responded. The driver was driven to the hospital, and Highway Patrol took control of the crash.

19:04 - Ambulance requested near Sattley. The patient was released against medical advice.

20:26 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

23:20 - A caller near Downieville reported that her daughter was harassing her and wanted documentation to be written.

Saturday, July 12

00:10 - A bear was inside Treasure Mountain Camp near Sierraville. Because of the number of people there and the possibility of the bear becoming a public safety hazard, Fish and Wildlife was notified and made contact with the caller.

08:55 - Possible wolf attack on a calf at a Sierraville ranch; the second such incident in a week at the same ranch. The information was forwarded to Fish and Wildlife.

16:12 - Someone was arrested near Bassetts on an assault charge and transported to Wayne Brown Correctional Facility.

18:28 - The Tahoe Forest Service and Downieville Fire responded to a crash on Depot Hill. The Highway Patrol took control of the incident.

20:15 - Report that a mountain biker had not made it back to Downieville. While on the phone with dispatch, the biker walked up to the caller, safe and sound.

23:31 - Ambulance requested in Sierra City.

Sunday, July 13

00:50 - Report that a suspicious person was walking around Sierraville Hot Springs Campground late at night, screaming and talking to himself. A deputy made contact with the caller, but the campground host was already able to intervene. No crime was determined to have occurred.

06:33 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

07:49 - Coroner’s case in Verdi.

10:10 - 911 hang-up from Loyalton.

10:38 - Report of a Garmin activation near Jackson Meadows Reservoir outside Sierra County.

11:29 - Welfare check at the Indian Valley Outpost requested.

12:54 - The Sheriff’s Office assisted someone with transportation.

14:57 - Report of people jumping from Durgan Bridge in Downieville (again).

20:22 - Report of someone walking along Highway 49 near Goodyears Bar wearing a loincloth. The Highway Patrol and a deputy could not locate anyone.

22:06 - AAA requested a welfare check on a subject who requested a tow near Goose Lake. A deputy responded but could not locate the described vehicle.

22:28 - A possible drunk driver was reported in Sierraville. The Highway Patrol was notified.

23:51 - Ambulance requested near Loyalton.
