15:15 - Citizen assisted out-of-county in Portola.

15:45 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

17:15 - A dog was possibly bitten by a rattlesnake on Main Street in Downieville.

Tuesday, August 19

07:57 - The Sheriff’s Office assisted another agency.

11:00 - Report of a wolf attack on cattle near Sierraville.

12:53 - Vandalism at a campsite near Sierra City.

13:33 - A possible wolf attack on cattle near Sattley was determined not to have been wolf-caused.

14:54 - Possible theft in Loyalton.

15:32 - Report of a dog bite near Reno.

17:11 - A Sierra County deputy cited a driver for a traffic offense in front of the Loyalton gas station.

18:02 - A dog reportedly came home with a bear’s paw in Calpine.

19:02 - Cows on Highway 49 near Loyalton. The owner was contacted, and the Highway Patrol was notified.

20:29 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

21:54 - Information provided about suspicious activity at a Downieville residence.

Wednesday, August 20

10:37 - Possibly abandoned vehicle on River Street in Downieville.

11:59 - Welfare check requested in Sierra City.

15:45 - Report of a fight at a mining claim near Downieville.

16:28 - Ambulance requested by someone in Loyalton for someone in Portola.

18:09 - Report that a travel trailer had been stolen. The Highway Patrol and a Sierra County deputy responded.

18:19 - Overdue parties at Rocky Rest campground showed up while deputies were responding to the report.

21:37 - Report of harassment at Fiddle Creek Campground. After parties were interviewed, it was determined no crime had occurred.

22:04 - Request for a deputy to respond regarding suspicious activity in the Lakes Basin area. Plumas County was notified.

22:28 - Mental health issue in Loyalton.

Thursday, August 21

07:52 - Sierra County inmate transported to court from the Nevada County jail.

07:57 - A calf was walking along Highway 49 near Loyalton. Susanville Highway Patrol was notified.

09:24 - Sheriff Fisher reported a confirmed wolf depredation in the Sierra Valley. Fish and Wildlife was notified.

09:26 - Possible wolf depredation at a Sierra Valley ranch was found not to be the wolves’ fault. Fish and Wildlife were still notified.

10:13 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

11:15 - Information provided to the Sheriff’s Office.

12:53 - Someone was arrested in Nevada on a Sierra County warrant.

13:52 - Probation checks were conducted in Calpine.

15:22 - Someone had possible information about a Sierra County missing person case. A deputy conducted an interview.

16:45 - A possible over-length semi in Downieville was reported, but deputies could not find it.

17:27 - Welfare check requested for a juvenile reportedly without a guardian in Downieville. The juvenile could not be found.

17:38 - Accidental 9-1-1 call from Stampede Reservoir.

18:28 - Report of a hit-and-run in Loyalton that had occurred earlier in the day. Susanville Highway Patrol assisted in responding. The caller did not want a report taken.

18:50 - Report of possible illegal campers with an illegal barbecue in Downieville. Nobody was there when deputies checked.

20:05 - Deputies assisted with an ongoing mental health issue in Truckee.

Friday, August 22

07:31 - Christopher Marin completed annual sex offender registration.

08:35 - Several attacks on calves and a confirmed wolf kill of a calf on a Sierra Valley ranch. DNA evidence was collected, and Fish and Wildlife was notified.

11:47 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

14:36 - Report of a possible downed power line in Loyalton was found to be a downed fiber-optic cable. The cable was removed from the roadway.

16:13 - Request for civil service in the Downieville area was denied due to lack of information.

16:41 - On the afternoon of August 21, a woman in the Loyalton area reports that she encountered what appeared to be a wolf in her backyard. The suspected wolf did not act aggressively, but did not display fear of human presence. The animal walked off after the woman yelled at it. Fish and Wildlife was notified, and a warden conducted an interview.

17:19 - Civil issue in Loyalton.

19:38 - A welfare check was requested for someone with a flat tire near Little Truckee Summit who was awaiting a roadside assistance service. A deputy waited with the driver until assistance arrived.

22:47 - Ambulance requested at Emigrant Group Campground.

Saturday, August 23

04:27 - Welfare check requested for family members who were supposed to make it back to Salmon Creek Campground. The family members were found at Bassets Station after they had almost run out of gas, gotten lost, and spent the night at a different campground.

09:45 - 9-1-1 hang-up from the Vinton area. Plumas County was notified.

11:56 - Accidental 9-1-1 call from the Sierraville area.

13:55 - Report of someone having a possible mental breakdown at Webber Lake. The subject was located and received assistance from family members.

15:53 - Ambulance requested in Downieville.

15:56 - Brush fire at the Sattley Transfer Station. It was quickly contained.

16:30 - Report of a fire in the Dog Valley area, but Truckee Meadows Fire couldn’t find anything.

21:20 - Report of an overdue party that was headed to Sardine Lake Resort. The Sheriff’s Office and the reporting party were eventually able to make contact and arrange a pickup for the overdue party, who had gotten lost.

23:19 - Someone requested a ride back to Bassetts after being stranded in Downieville.

Sunday, August 24

04:49 - Someone was arrested for DUI on Interstate 80, about 30 feet from the Nevada County line where the freeway briefly enters Sierra County.

06:51 - Report of a hit-and-run in Loyalton.

09:52 - Report of a wolf attack on cattle near Calpine.

14:15 - Fire near Haskell Peak. The Forest Service responded to extinguish it.

16:42 - 9-1-1 ping from Verdi.

17:06 - Traffic offense reported in Sierra Brooks.

17:49 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

18:02 - A deputy overheard the Forest Service reporting a possible fire in the Sagehen Summit area.

18:47 - Ambulance requested in Loyalton.

19:24 - Possible fire near Treasure Mountain. The Forest Service responded.

20:11 - Report of smoke and flames north of Sattley. The Forest Service responded.

20:28 - Wolf spotted on a Sierra Valley ranch. The Fish and Wildlife Strike Team and the Department of Agriculture Drone Team responded but could not find the wolf.
