19:21 - A caller on Highway 49 reported one family member hitting another. The incident was documented at the caller’s request.

21:02 - Crash with injuries and vehicles blocking the roadway reported on Highway 89 near Rice Canyon. Emergency crews responded, the road was cleared, and the California Highway Patrol took over the incident.

Friday, September 18

09:50 - Ambulance requested at the Downieville Grocery Store. The patient declined care against medical advice.

12:08 - A wallet found at the Downieville post office was turned in to the sheriff’s office.

14:23 - Assistance requested for a caller and vehicle stuck in mud in the Stampede Reservoir area. Both were freed from the mud.

16:03 - A cell phone found at the Downieville public restroom was turned in to the sheriff’s office and returned to its owner.

18:37 - A driver’s license found in Downieville was returned to its owner.

18:55 - Illegal, unattended campfire reported near Long Valley Road. The Forest Service extinguished it.

21:59 - Assistance requested for people stranded by a disabled vehicle on Highway 89 southeast of Sierraville. The Susanville Highway Patrol was helping arrange a tow truck.

Saturday, September 19

12:40 - Ambulance requested at the Downieville Visitors Center. The patient declined care against medical advice.

17:00 - Commercial burglary alarm reported on Main Street in Loyalton. It was found to be an accidental activation.

18:00 - Investigation conducted in Sierraville.

19:55 - A pickup towing a trailer was reported dragging something that sparked on northbound Highway 89 near Highway 49 in Sierraville. A deputy spoke with the driver, who was fixing the problem.

20:55 - Noise complaint reported in the Wheeler Sheep Camp area. Deputies heard no noise when they arrived.

23:12 - A deputy stopped a driver for a traffic violation near Beckwith and Fourth streets in Loyalton. The driver completed field sobriety tests and was found not to be impaired.
