11:13 - Notification of a fire drill at Downieville School.

11:37 - Report of a vegetation fire, listed as the Poker Fire, north of Downieville.

19:13 - Report of a possibly aggressive dog encounter in Loyalton. A deputy spoke with the dog’s owner.

20:28 - Report of a barking dog in Sierraville. The owners brought the dog inside, and the barking stopped.

22:51 - A deputy came across a driver needing fuel at a Highway 49 scenic overlook.

17:37 - A 911 hang-up from Mill Street in Loyalton was determined to be accidental.

19:50 - Report of a suspicious vehicle southeast of Sierraville. The vehicle and its occupant were located, and the occupant was asked to move along.

20:23 - Welfare check requested on Moonshine Road in Camptonville. The person was found safe.

Thursday, September 24

05:40 - Sierra County inmates transported to court.

10:49 - Ambulance requested on Main Street in Sierra City.

11:22 - Ambulance requested for a motorcycle crash with injuries on Highway 49 at Depot Hill.

11:50 - Probation search reported in the Loyalton area.

13:52 - Assistance requested for a probation search on Sage Road in Loyalton.

15:46 - A deputy took a person home after a release from the Nevada County Jail.

16:27 - Loyalton High School held its homecoming dance at Calpine Lodge without incident.

18:18 - Report of a possibly unregistered vehicle on Third Street in Loyalton. A deputy found that registration was being processed by the Department of Motor Vehicles.

20:39 - Report of illegal burning at Chapman Creek Campground.

21:14 - Report of a possibly reckless driver swerving on westbound Highway 70 between Vinton and Beckwourth. The California Highway Patrol’s Susanville office was notified.

16:00 - Report of possible threats in Sierraville.

17:24 - Report of threats toward a juvenile on Rancho Circle Drive. A deputy contacted those involved, and an investigation was planned.

17:35 - Ambulance requested on Hill Street in Loyalton.

13:39 - Citizen assisted with a flat tire and transportation between Downieville and Sierra City.

14:05 - Deer tag validation requested in Loyalton.

15:32 - Report of a directional traffic sign turned upside down on Highway 49, five miles north of Sierraville. Caltrans was notified.

17:07 - A strong smell of burning plastic was reported coming through the Sheriff’s Office ventilation in Downieville. Overheating electrical components may have been the source.

17:20 - Report of attempted fraud on Main Street in Downieville.

17:22 - Property found in front of the Yuba Theatre in Downieville was turned in to the Sheriff’s Office.

22:22 - Report of dogs barking all day and night in Sierra City. A deputy found no barking dogs in the reported area.

22:34 - Lift assistance requested in Loyalton.
