Press Release by Sierra County Sheriff's Office On August 2, 2023, around 3:35 PM, the Sierra County Sheriff's Office received a "Be On The Lookout" (BOLO) notification from the Nevada County Sheriff's Dispatch. The BOLO was regarding a vehicle that was wanted in
connection with a homicide that had occurred the previous day in Citrus Heights. The Truckee Police Department's Flock ALPR (Automated License Plate Reader) camera detected the license plate of the wanted vehicle near Alder Creek Road and Hwy 89 in
Truckee. Upon receiving the BOLO, Sierra County Deputies were informed and quickly spotted the vehicle heading north on Hwy 89 in Sierraville. They conducted a felony car stop and apprehended both occupants without any trouble. Afterward, the Sierra County Deputies
assisted Citrus Heights Police Detectives in transporting the suspects and impounding the vehicle.
