NEVADA CITY — U.S. Forest Service officials have selected Chris Feutrier as forest supervisor and Amber Waters as deputy forest supervisor to lead the Tahoe National Forest.
Feutrier joined Tahoe National Forest in June after serving as deputy regional forester for the Forest Service’s Pacific Southwest Region. Prior to that, he worked as the director for the Forest Service Enterprise Program and has over 20 years of experience in various roles with the agency.
“It is an honor to step into a role within such a vibrant community known for its commitment to innovation, hard work, and a culture of excellence,” said Feutrier. “I look forward to continuing the great work already started here between the Forest Service and our partners. Through shared vision and collective action, it is our goal to ensure the Tahoe National Forest continues to effectively serve our communities now and into the future.”

Waters began her Forest Service career with the Tahoe National Forest in 2000 and has served in a variety of administrative and budget-focused roles with the Forest Service Enterprise Program and across the agency.
“I am thrilled to rejoin the Tahoe National Forest and serve my community on the local level,” said Waters. “I continue to be impressed by the professionalism and dedication of our partners and staff working hard to deliver the Forest Service’s multi-use mission.”
